Replacing the sponges with ???

I hate the sponge in the back of my tank. I want to replace it but am not sure with what. What can I replace it with to use as a filter?

replace it with a hunk of filter floss or a celco sponge from the store.

Replace it with Live rock rubble small little pieces will act as filter and replace that useless sponge. Experiment with a little but dont forget to place the sponge on top of the rock for a couple of days so the live organisams will transfer to the live rock then take it out. Good luck!!!
