Hey
I was wondering if anybody knows how i should go about reporting ***** for their HORRIBLE Fish car .... and also who i should report it to .... it is geting to be ridiculous. They have a dogface puffer with ich in the same tank as a coral Beauty which now has ich a purple tang A Foxface 3 big yellow tangs a niger trigger a fuzzy dwarf and a nipped up sailfin tang .... all of these are in a 10 ggallon with 2 fish that have ich.. while they have 5 tanks with nothing in them. I questioned the manager and he said why do you care are you going to buy them? ALL of there tanks are arent cleaned their qaulty is absolutly diminished from the very little that they did have before.
What should I do .... I DONT want them selling SW anymore!

Start with their website.... Then if no satisfaction call the local chamber of commerce then the better businees bureau!
Better yet, the ASPCA!

***** just sold to a new company, as I just found out a couple of days ago. http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?se...ess&id=4365926 Do a little research has to who bought the company and report your dissatisfaction to them and let them know what you plan on using the internet as a media to convey your own dissatisfaction and distrust and your OWN OPINION (no one else's) of employee knowledge for fish and reef care (slander is punishable) i have sent letters to the company my self and with little reaction, it usally "thank you for shopping at *****. were sorry about your experiance with our store bla bla bla.
good luck

I reported ***** here on two occasions and both times they responded and handled the complaint within short order and did it reasonably. First thing is however is talk to the top store manager in that store, not a dept manager or assocated manager, but the one in charge of that store. If that fails to rectify things, then contact corporate offices. The address (email as well as snailmail and phone) are all on the contacts page of their website. Hsave names and dates readily available. Don;t go off half cocked on the person answerring the phone, in other words do not shoot the messenger, as they at corporate offices are willing to make things right, so just give me the pertinent info and you can count on getting a return phone call or email from them in regards to the situation........Names and exact time and dates are important.

thank you all for the information I am going to try and gather up all the reefers and hobbyists in my area aand see if we can shut their SW dept down for awhile untill they learn how to house living things .... it is just ridiculous that they had all those fish in the tank with 2 fish that allready had ich and the have no regard for things that are living. It seriously chaps my butt. ..... anyway I'll keep everybody posted, and if anybody lives in the Folsom, Sacramento, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park area that has seen this and wants to file a complaint, shoot me an email. b0st0nreds0x@comcast.net

Strange, but my local ***** is fine. Ya the tanks are small, but then all my LFS tanks are small.
I was in a LFS just the other day and stepped on a dead and rotting fish that was lying on the floor next to the tank! :scared: :scared:

Of course i'm not going back there.

I was on the phone 3 times this week with ***** and they admit there having web communication issues. Call them, phone is on there web site and ask for customer service. I have had excellent results in dealing with corportate. The local guys have limited capabilities. I'm in Reno and the staff here is great. Remember you will win more friends by being business like in your conversations with them. Good luck

I guess I'm lucky. The ***** here is actually pretty good. They have people who know alot about salt water and they isolate the sick fish from the heatlhy. I quess some are good but from what I've read there are alot of bad ones. Not sticking up for ***** but The same thing goes for and fish store. I've been to good ones and bad ones too.

I think the bigest problem with ***** is it is hard to find people who know so much about saltwater fish and problems with them and will work for 7 bucks a hour. Selling dog food they are great at but look at all the water tests you have to do with saltwater and stuff you need to put in the water. I have bought some fish from ***** but I buy them when they are just coming off the truck.(they will tell you when the shipment are coming) I can see how it can be hard for *****, do they pay someone who knows what they are doing or do they sell you a 8.00 dogface puffer? People will always go to the cheaper place and buy. well that is my 2 cents

That's a great point. Places like our LFS do charge more for almost everything, but I feel like I am paying for their service & experience as part of that "up-charge". Case in point...we needed our lightbulbs replaced, & I'm quite sure I could have ordered them cheaper on the internet or a chain pet store, but I had them bring them out & put them in (they do service on our tank anyway so it was part of that days' service). I also choose to purchase most supplies & all our fish/critters from them. Just like I would support a local restauraunt that was perhaps more $$ than say, McDonalds, but had much better food & a chef that would cook to your request. At my LFS, I can call anytime with a question & have it answerd properly, and I can request any type of fish & they'll tell me good/bad & they will order it for me if it's appropriate.
So, although $$ is quite important, it isn't always the bottom line. Sometimes you pay a little more for a greater return in the end. Even if it is something like a veggie clip :)

Keeping the systems ***** uses for fish is not hard......I have a complete setup justy like those in ***** or Wal MArt from a store that remodeled and had the junk setting oout back to throw away.....Its now setup i my barn......and to be honest, its easier to keep than individual tanks...however, all that goes to pieces just as soon as a fish is sick. That sick fish needs tobe pulled and put in a hospital tank....Same with new fish when they get them, they need QT, which most if naay do not do anyhow.....so in all regards if they get a few sick fish it can be pandemic with the problem spreading.
I have always seen sick fish left in the tanks.......and I asked why not cure or kill the fish thats pityfull as such. Their answer was they have to prove to vendor fish was sick or dead for credit....Dunno, but m y local ***** pulls sick fish and puts em in a QT / Hospital setup in the back storage sectin of the store, and they also have a tank they use to kill the fish as well......so its all dependant on each store how problems are handled.
There s no need to add "ANYTHING" to any of the tanks so that eliminates a skill level. The way ***** and Walmart tanks are setup, about all you need to do is be able to adjust SG, keep tanks topped off and feed the fish.........No skill required, and probbaly any real skill would be wasted working in such a place,m at least in regards to needing that skill to take care of fish. Answering customer questions is another deal altogether. That 7 bucks an hours could also be the 5 bucks minimum wage flipping burgers too, so for what they do 7 bucks and hour is nothing to laugh at.

regional managers for chains are great also. .... slander written or spoken is illegal and punishable .. just have your facts straight... ask for the regional managers contanct information... every large chain has one. you go o corparate and their just going to regional so take out the middle man and go regional.
