I have a branching hammer coral with 7 branches. 5 of which are alive and well and thriving, 2 have been long dead before I purchased them. a few weeks ago I noticed a minute piece of "skin" on one of the "dead branches.
About a week later I noticed "bumps" on it. I kept monitoring it and low and behold, it now has fully developed hammer corall polyps on it. There are 5 new clusters, all with their own colynized polyps. The lfs store, which we all know has no usable info at all, said it is impossible for a dead branch to inhabit new coral life. I have awesome proof. Has anyone ever seen this happen before? It is getting bigger every day. I feed all my corals frozen phyto plankton wice a week. My magnificent/ritteri anemeone loves plankton. damn I'm good!!
