Return from sump/refugium

Does anyone see a problem by using a power head to return water from the sump to the main tank? What about a canister filter? I'm assuming these are just different types of 'pumps'.

The reason that you don't hear of this all that muchis because there is not that much GPH force of a canister or powerhead.
