Just completed a water change and when I went to restart everything, my return pump isn't working.
THe local fish stor isn't open this late, but will reopen tomorrow. If I needed to I can go to a ***** before they close, assuming they will have a pump that will work. What am I looking for anyway? 75 gallon fish only with overflow.
Will my fish survive until tomorrow?
Any suggestions?

Is it still making noise, maybe it just needs to prime. I just had this happend to me last night when I drained water from my sump to try to clean it up a little. I had to hold the pump with the intake facing up to get it to prime. It normally faces down.

Try giving it a good cleaning before buying a new one. Soak the parts in vinigar...
What type of pump is it??

Chances are it's just dirty unless it's old. Take it apart and clean it up real good and see if it works.

until you can get a new one just run a powerhead or 2 in the tank for circulation they should be ok if you give enough flow.

Thank for the suggestions.
I removed my pump from the skimmer and ran it in the tank for circulation and everyone survived.
Going to get another pump this morning as the other one is old.

I took it to the LFS, they took it apart and found that the impeller was broken because the shaft broke. He replaced it and it was all fine. Since I didn't have to get a new pump, I bought a new powerhead instead.
THanks for the ideas.
