return pump

I need a little advice on the type of pump to use for my return. I was looking to get about 1000gph - 6' and had been looking at a few different brands. :help:
Iwaki WMD40RLXT
Quiet One Aquarium Pump 6000
Danner Mag-Drive Supreme 12
I also have a 1/4 hp chiller and a 18 watt UV that i need to plumb in. is it possible to use the the same pump above or is that to much flow for it to be affective.
Any ideas or feedback would be great. :notsure
thanks
Alan

If you want to run/split off all those things, and still get 1000gph to the tank, you will need a higher volume pump...

If all your overflow will handle is 1000 gph then thats the most you can go. If you split 400 off to go through your chiller and the remaining 600 go straight to your display, you still have 1000 total. But you have to figure out how much additional head pressure the chiller is going to add to come up with your 1000 total. .
Your best bet is to get a pump rated at about 1200 to 1500 and put a ball valve between it and the split. Then put another ball valve right before your chiller. That way you can adjust the flow through your chiller and then adjust the remaining flow to your tank and you wont outrun your overflow.

Whatever gph hour you decide to go with out of the listed pumps I would go with the Iwaki, then the quiet one, then mag drive last. You could also get a sequence pump for even better quality.
