i was looking at a site that recomended Mag drive pumps over rio pumps, i emialed them and asked them why. and they said that rio pumps were not as good and reliable, ok but are they that bad after all? i have a rio 2500 as a return pump for my wet/dry. is this bad?

Many people including myself have had problems with rio pumps. They have been none to melt down but more commonly have trouble restarting after a loss of power. I woulp put a mag over a rio any day of the week.

I was looking at the mag's to replace my rio 2100. I also have a 55gal with single overflow. So far not too many problems just it gets loud every now and then. Would someone recommend the Mag 5 or Mag 7 for my tank. I already have MaxiJet 1200 and 600 in the tank as powerheads sp circulation is good.
