ribbon eel

Iam thinking about getting one in the future for my 135 reef. I have 2 cleaner shrimp. Can eels get ick?

I think eels can get ich, and an eel with those shrimp are a bad idea, and ribbon eels are hard to keep, anyway i'v never heard of them on sale!!!! I think eals are SPS coral safe but not invert safe if they can move or are clams...Helped?

:happyfish Ya, agree eels aren't shrimp safe. Although I've heard of cleaner shrimp cleaning eels occasionally. Ribbon eels are VERY sensative, and don't do well in captivity. The only one I've heard that does somewhat ok is the ghost ribbon, or white ribbon. Then the black, then the blue, and green ones last. I wanted a blue ribbon eel bad too, but found out they are nearly impossible to keep alive, almost like moorish idols I guess. :nope: Good luck, ali

i will skip it. Some eels understand the importants of cleaners. At a local public aquairum they haev a 9 foot moray with a neon goby on him . That was cool.
