all i know is that they are allmost impossible to keep, best to leave them in the wild.

They look very cool me and my wife wanted one for our 55gal tank. Is there any other eel that is as colorful as the ribbon eel

there arent really anyother super colorful eels and are very limited on eels for that size tank but snowflake eels are really cool

The white ribbon eel, Pseudechidna brummeri, is extremely hardy. They are cheap, but I rarely see them in the shops.

If you have a large budget, the golden dwarf moray, Gymnothorax melatremus, is small, colorful, and hardy. Quite popular with reefers due to their small size and peaceful nature. Very expensive though, go for $199 up here in Canada.

my lfs got two ribbon eels one was black and the other one was blue with yellow and both of them jumped out of the tanks

thats the lfs fault, everyone knows eels will jump so they need tight fitting lids, but they would have died anyways so it doesn't really matter. they should be left in the wild.
