Richard,
Thanks for your imput on MH lights and bulbs. I upgraded my canopy today from VHO 4x95watts to 1x250watt 10K MH and 2x95watt VHO. I was running a 13 hour photoperiod. What is the best way to acclimate my tank. I cant really raise my canopy so I need to adjust the photoperiod. Would this work or do you have any other suggestions.
Week 1:
8:00am Atinics on
12:00pm MH on
4:00pm MH off
8:00pm Atinics off
Week 2:
8:00 Atinics
12:00 MH
5:00 MH off
8:00 atinics off
And continue this way until I have the photoperiod I like. What effect will the reduced photoperiod have on the corals in my tank? Will they get enough light?

That sounds good to me...slowly increase the photoperiod until you get it back to normal. Keep an eye on your corals...if they seem happy, you are doing fine...if they don't open as much as normal, you may want to cut back the photoperiod of the MH for a while. Some corals adjust faster than others, but it shouldn't take any of them too long. Good luck and congrats on your new lights.
