ricordea and peppermint shrimp

I just added 2 ricordea polyps to my tank and one of my peppermint shrimp will not leave them alone. Is he just inspecting them or is he trying to hurt them? At this moment as I type he is lifting one of the polyps up.. I don't want him to knock it over or tear it.. What is he doing?

More than likely just checking it out for any tasty morsals....I doubt the peppermint will do any damage.
I have peppermints....blood reds...and skunks that are always checking corals out.

Ok. I got irritated with it so I pushed the shrimp away and moved the mushroom back in it's spot. He hasn't touched it since.. It just seemed like he was tearing bits of it off, the mushroom was definitely stressed out.

My peppermints (I have 2); have to check out everything I put in the tank. Its live they are the inspectors of the tank. But they never hurt anything. Just nibble at small particles on the corals.

Peppermint shrimp are "very" nosey. I was joking with my wife that they should wear "SECURITY" t-shirts.

I have 2 as well and they are very nosy. It actually is a toss up between them and my cleaner shrimp. Both have to check out anything I put in the tank. And whenever I stick my hand in they all come over to see what's up.

lol...my cbs does all of the above. Especially when I spot feed my brittle stars and linkia, he just HAS to come by to see what everyone is eating. Of course, I think I have spolied him(her?-sorry!) by spot feeding him as well during this whole thing. I just feel bad....he watches everyone else get fed, so I just give him a bit too. Even when I vacuum the tank, he runs over and I think he actually watches, because he doesnt even attempt to grab any detrius that may come up and escape the siphon...its actually like he is genuinely curious. Love this little guy! Been with me for almost 2 years now and what a personality!
