ricordia mushrooms

While I run 4200 watts of light over 500 gallons, I find that my recordia seem to like a somewhat shaded situation...especially the green ones. I don't think current plays that critical a role; but, mine are in pretty high of a flow.

I have an orange one that is placed on the bottom directly under the 175w mh. The current looks fairly high where he is placed. It is currently in the process of dividing. I just got a pink and purple one yesterday and i also placed it near the bottom but in an area of less current.

steve/Bigmac -- Either of you want to send me some frags?:D . I posted a comment the other day about not being able to find sps like that around here and that is seems like cali/west coast is the hot spot for it. Just a year ago you wouldn't have found any sps at any of the lfs in the area but now things are slowly coming around(very limited selection though.)

Big Mac thanks for the reply I placed them low in the tank and must not have been low enough they moved a little lower I'm trying to get them to attach to a few small rocks that i have but they keep moving i made a cup to put them in with the rock and hopfully they will attach. Any special things that i should feed or are they filter feeders. also if you have any frags to get rid of you can send them my way I'm just starting out with corals so these mushrooms are all i have right now

One thing to keep in mind is that ricordia are a little different that most other types of mushrooms. They do require more light than the average shroom. I've got both of mine towards the upper part of my tank, but I'm not running massive amounts of light like steve and big mac. Mine an under 300 watts of vho in a 30 gallon. They don't like it as much down towards the bottom.

I just got some loose shrroms out of the tank in my LFS and have tried to attach them with crazyglue twice now. Not sitcking.
I'll try the veil material next - thanks.
Ricordia have polyps? Anyone know a good shroom ID site?
