i was thinking about a shrimp. and no zoos or corals because i cant afford that right now and when i can i want to focus all of my corals into my reef.

i don't really see that big of a problem doing a star only tank. i started my 30gal in that direction, but right now its a qt until my 75gal is complete and cycled. I still may keep with it and go with a star only tank, time will tell.
like stated, i think your tank is a little to small, i'd go no smaller than 10 or 15 gallons. but you must keep the parameters in check.
i find brittles/serpents more fun to watch, thats just me.

if you like cc so much i'd sell that smaller tank and get you something a little bigger. Wouldn't cost that much.
the main issue with cc stars(also - none reef and brittles/serpents) is water parameters not so much the size of tank. but you have to remember bigger the tank the easier it is to keep better water parameters.

yes i know that. that wont be as much of a problem because i keep an eye on my perameters like you wouldnt believe. im also going to let the tank mature about 6 months so it is a bit more stable. although i know it will still be a challenge.
