rifle question

Also - they've got to be a good gun if the military is using them. :D Saw an article a while ago in a magazine. I was proud.

That is pretty cool. I love my 700, I had a ball with my daughter handloading for it. She's 10, and takes tremendous pride in the details and intricacies of "making bullets", and I'm quite proud when I touch off one of her rounds, and see the hole at 100 yards get a little bigger:D Thats my girl!
I want to put a timney trigger on mine before next season, just for fun.
I am rather fond of Nosler Ballistic tips, 130gr, but I have some 100 and 110 grain speer that I load up sizzling hot, for plinking.
almost no recoil with those little bullets, so you can see them hit through the scope...it's quite impressive. I accidentially mixed one in with my hunting loads, and shot a deer with it. I got to see the impact before I blinked

nutty CA legislature,
after the new year all 50 caliber bolt action rifles are considered , "assault weapons".:notsure:
I wonder if my beagle is also an assault weapon?

50 cal is friggin' huge though. . . i think many respects would be considered "over kill"

fish king, I would go with the remington 870. It will be much more versatile and you will use it more in the long run.
pwnag3!! a "50 cal " is nothing more than a 1/2 in diameter bullet, S&W makes a revolver in that caliber.
I believe a 12ga shotgun is 73 caliber.
Why would you say that "no one should have one"? There have been exactly zero used in any crime(according to the FBI).

what i meant was that it is the largest caliber in any bullet for a handgun (from what ive researched) it packs alot of power.
Im not saying no body should be able to have a 50 caliber rifle or pistol.... im all for less gun control... but its just dangerous in the wrong hands....
the reason most people dont use desert eagles is they are too expensive and soo much recoil.
hell if i had enough money i would buy this bad boy!

reloading bullets is easy if you have the proper equipment...
ive never reloaded shot gun shells... but a few 30 06 shells.
you have to be careful... its possible to put too much grain in the shell... that wouldnt be good for your gun.

My 10 year old daughter reloads my .270 for me.
Of course I do quality checks and supervise the process, but if a ten year old girl can, how hard can it be?
She does a phenomenal job. I'm not proud or anything.

yes 50 caliber is gigantic and should not just be able to be in the hands of anyone.
pwnag3!!
I think everyone should be able to own one, except nut cases, children, and felons. The Idea that we sould limit acces to "something" due to the outspoken cries of some hysterical few, without regard for fact, is absurd.

Isnt she gorgeous? They have a 6" barrelled version now. Debating if I want one. The full size kills the wrists enough!
