Hey Lady!
If you are adding dry sand, rinse it. When you add the water make sure you put a saucer or a bowl at the bottom so the sand isn't redistributed from where you initally laid it. However, I don't know what type of sand your LFS is getting you.

DO NOT rinse live sand. If its sold to you as dry sand i would rinse it. Rinsing live sand will kill off anything that has survived (bacteria and any other inverts)
