rinsing sand??

if its live sand you dont rinse it....when i set up my tank it was new after i cleaned it..i put my sand in then put my water in and mixed my salt in....hope that helps

This is how I did it: I put the sand in a container and let water overflow the container to wash out loose "stuff"

holy ----, my water looks like amazon right now!!! its impossible to completely rinse that sand!!! i hope it clears up

it could take up to 3 days to clear up...but it will clear up....lol..remain calm....step away from the tank...j/k....your doing fine

i did on mine, no sense in letting a dirty filter sit around right...just remember....no water changes till ur cycle is complete.some people may disagree but i agree with the knowledgeable around here "only defeats the purpose"....still waiting on mine to finish cycling...about half way there...patience is running a little thin... "step away from the fish tank"(thats what i keep telling myself) that and stay away from the fish store.......lmao
