Rio Seio Question..

well i have been researching the Rio Seio's and in every picture they look like a tunze, but whne i see them on ---- or other online stores they look like rectanugles, is there an etachment that cames with the Seio to make up look like the tunze, i like the look of the tunze more then a box.
also, i want to either get the 620 or the 820, in my 55 (SPS dominatioms!) with 4 MJ ran on a wavemaker which would be better? the 820 is lookign pretty sweet to me though, and if anyone has them, could you please tell me how you like them, or post pictures??
i only see the top versions the the bottom, do the tup versions turn into the lower ones, like mighty morphing power-rangers???

You can remove the lower rectangular housing to get the pump to look like the other pics. Works better for SPS tanks without the lower rectangular housing

One guy said he ran his on a wavemaker and they haven't crapped out yet but I'm not gonna take the chance maybe if you ran them for a few hours then switch them off or something but at $30-$40 each I'm not gonna try it.

What problems are they having? I hope they come out with some kind of controller like the tunzes. I was gonna go with the tunves but they are way to powerful for my little 46g.

you can turn them down on your 46....their is no compition between sio and tunze.......tunze blows them out of the water.......i have heard many bad things about the sio's

To late I already bought 2 seio 620's for $70, but if they crap out I look into 2 tunzes with a controller but I'm gonna see how they work.

for that price might as well try....never personally seen them but from the company that makes them and from rumors they seem to not be good...specialy if on a timer...probaly why they don't make a timer for them

I'm just putting one on each side, I heard horrible things about rio products but a few people have said that the seio's aren't to bad. I was thinking the same thing about the price to. I'm gonna start setting up a auto-top off and hook up a kalk-reactor to it down the road as I collect more sps. So far the 3 frags I got are going fine and the polips are extended pretty far under the 2x175 watt MH's with 10k bulbs. I'm gonna get some pics up once I gwt the pc actinics.

The ceramic shafts and ceramic sealbearings build up calcium and then kind of weld together...mine stop working about every 2-3 weeks. I have to remove em and soak em in vinegar to free em up so I can remove the shafts so I can soak them..Its a PITA

if your not adding tons of calcium to your tank like I am then you shouldn't have a problem...

Well i'm not adding any know because all i got is a flowepot, candycane, blue stripe shrooms, a monti digi, a large acro colony, a acro frag both unidentified. I'm adding more acros slowly so i'll start dosing 2 part bionic and i'm gonna be seting up a auto-top off soon which will have kalk mixed in the resovoir when I get a decent amount of sps and they start to encrust I'll add a kalk-reactor and maybe a calcium reactor down the road a while so i'm guesing they will crap out on me and i'll end up with a tunze or something.
