is surrounded by fire. So far the building is ok and the animals are ok also. The only air breathers are the penguins and they have filtered air.

So as long as the building is sound and has power the animals should be fine

Do you work there, beaslbob?

Sounds pretty intense but it looks like the building survived, did the animals make it?

I do not work there and I'm sure no public aquarium would want any advice of mine like the beaslbob method.

My understanding now is the employees evacuated early in the day with everyone else.
But the aquarium was not damaged and the only air breathers were the penguins. And they were breathing filtered air. So as long as the building is intact and has power, the animals are fine.

then a few hours after the evacuation key people/keepers were allowed to return under escort of the first responders.

My thoughts are the everything survived at the aquarium.

FWIW, your method may have been too far ahead of its time for others to realize it's potential.

The last 2 times I've set up my tank I've taken a very similar approach and they've been the smoothest tank start ups I've ever had. Including from my freshwater days.

thanks for the feedback. back in 2004 or so such words would have resulted and a flame war.

Glad it worked out for ya.
