RO ? 10 day run

I just hooked up a kent 50 gpd. Manual said to run it for 10 days for best results.Its making 35 gpd now.does anyone know if a 10 day run time will help produce more water? Thanks

I never did that to mine. It seemed to work fine, not to mention, you'll use up quite a bit of the membrane doing that..

Something sounds wrong with the 10 day run statement.
Sure you should run the system for a few minutes whenever you are going to have new cartridges and prefilters installed but you should do this regardless even if not replacing new cartridges just to let the water that has stagnated , a chance to be flushed out.
However 10 days is excessive. Give Kent a call and let us know.

are you sure it said 10 day run,
i believe when i set mine up it said to discard the first 10 gallons
and yes is says to discard the first 10 gallons with the cartridge removed from the 3rd canister
ok got the instructions out , it says 10 days of continuos running is required for complete membrane hydration, during this time the water is still filtered and can be used as normal, although the output maybe low
