I am changing out my ro/di filters tonight, and I can not seem to find in the booklet where it mentions if I have to run a certain amount of gallons thru these before I can use the new water
can anyone tell me?

Mine did. I just let them run a full day. Its the DI stage that has to have a good rinsing if I remember right. Better safe than sorry at any rate. Let it flow overnight.
And make sure your DI stage is vertical. There seem to be a lot of bad models out there that have horizontal DI...this does nothing since the crystals sink. And the water passes right over top. If they are vertical...then the water is forced through. I went from 15-20ppm to 0-3ppm just by removing my DI stage from the horizontal position on top, and stood it on its head next to the unit.

OK...NEPTUNE....not second guessing you, BUT...all night is a lot!!! I have a 75gpd that makes approximately 3g's per hour....I re-read the book, and it says for reefkeepers to throw away the first 3-5 g's
LOL....I thought reefkeepers was one of their models

so I am going to make about 5g's....toss it...and start over

that will do. They ship DI filters with some kind of fluid. its the discharge that you have to expel. Mine didn't say EXACTLY how much water to pump through. It just said to make sure I discharge the DI filter via running it a while. But that's where I do mine all night(or day) since I consider 1 day during its 6month life to be little waste.
