I have a RO/DI filter That has three stages ( fiber, 5 m. CB, 5 m. CB ) 4 th. stage 100 gpd RO and then to storage tank, out of storage tank and 'T'ing off one line to a color changing DI for top off and water changes for reef tank. the other line thru final filter for drinking water.
Works great and I change the filters often as needed.
I have chance to buy another used filter, three stage and 24 gpd RO only for next to nothing.
My question is would this work if I add the three extra canisters for a total of six stages ahead of RO filter? Im thinking this would extend the life of the RO membrain and the DI cartrige. ??? Not sure about adding second RO to this, Im thinking no advantage and too much waist water. ???
Am I crazy or would this make a great filter.
What order and kind of filter should go in the six chambers?
Im thinking something like this but really not sure....
Sediment fiber, GAC, Sediment fiber, 5 micron CB, 5 micron CB, 1 micron CB lead filter.
Please tell me what YOU think........thanks

Best thing you can do is replace the 100 gpd RO membrane..These are drinking water membranes and only have a 90% rejection rate..I'd get one that was 75 gpd or less.
