Ro/di plumbing q's?

So I'm hooking up a bulk reef supply ro/di for drinking and aquarium water. I want to hook it up after my water softener, which I know how to do, but I don't know where to put the waste water??? Where can it go? The waste water from the softener goes all the way across the garage and up to the clothes washer drain. So, where can the waste water go?

It depends on your house-do you have a floor drain anywhere close? The RO/DI will put out a lot of waste for each volume of filtered water. Or, is it practical to run it outside and just let it dump on the ground?

Yeah, actually that's an idea I haven't considered. I can plumb it up and make it not permanent, then use it when I need it. Not sure if that will work yet, but thanks for the idea.

The house we rented at one time had a whole house water softener and the RO unit was only hooked up under the kitchen sink. I would say that is definitely AFTER the softener, wouldn't you? ;)

I wouldn't drink DI water. Bad on liver. Besides it has no vitamin value anyway. They do make unit with DI bypass. Just a thought.

I'm not sure, but I've found an awesome unit on thefilterguys.biz that will work for me in my sink, so problem solved I guess. I can't wait.

Cool I see you are finally getting your ro/di unit. Good job man.
Thanks. Since my dad's going to use the ro water produced by it, I don't have to pay for the whole thing.
