from the 3rd to last one have always been very helpful and treat to buy from. Either way, avoid a unit with a horizontal DI cartridge (junk, or upgrade to a vertical one like I did) and avoid a 100gph model unless you're sure the RO membrane isn't a DOW filter (it's a nano-filter, not a RO membrane, beware).
This statement is confusing me. I read the specks on this unit and it says something about DOW is this bad

I think what was being said is the the filmtec membrane is actually a nf (nano-filter) and not truly a reverse osmosis membrane . AS if such a statement were true then it should not be used in a ro/di system rated at or over 100gpd. Yeah I think I got that right???

I then went to DOW's site and cross referenced the typhoonIII's listed ro membrane number to see what it was. The number listed with airice&water was a tw30-1812-150. At the dow site they listed no such number and there largest tw(stands for tap water) was a tw30-1812-100. So then I went back to Airice&waters site and if you read about a replacement filter for that typhoon III this is what it says, "This thin film composite membrane is custom rolled to our specifications. All I can say if you love the membrane we have been selling for over ten years, you are sure to love this membrane."They also offer 2 warnings one that says that you need 65psi water for this application, and also they say on there 100gpd membrane that they don't like to see it used in ro/di applications? Got me scratching my noodle a little with all this double talk. HMMM

Well after MUCH MUCH MUCH TOOOO MUCH debate I bit the bullet and bought the typhoonIII. I know there maybe some boos and hisses out there but I believe I gave everyone there just dues and Typhoon III extreme just was the right choice for me with all the extras it comes with. For all of you that said the typhoon is the way to go I m sure you bought yours for the same reasons as myself. Ill be sure to let you know how the install goes and will report any and all problems for everyone.
Wheww I'm tired of research!!!!

This unit was very easy to hook up much easier than the other that I have. The water quality is excellent! I did have one problem with the tds alarm that I have pictured.

Let me explain, I hooked up the tds alarm per instructions and I pushed the button on the unit as the instructions say, I got nada. It didn't do anything so I thought maybe the batteries were bad that were already installed in the unit. I changed them out, still nada. HMMMMMMMMMM so I called AIW and left a message, they called back within a few hours and this is what I was told. " unplug the probe from the ro/di unit and place it in a glass of tap water, the red light should flash" (It DID), then I was told that the calibration of the alarm was set at 15ppm and that the green light may never come on. (So the alarm does work). When the alarm goes off it DOES NOT MAKE AN AUDIBLE SOUND. All that happens if your making water over 15ppm is the red light flashes, that's it. Although it doesn't make a sound which I thought it might, I am still satisfied with the unit. Also the ro/di unit comes with another tds meter that tells you the incoming and outgoing ppm tds, it actually comes with 2 ways to tell the water quality you are making! I LOVE IT!!!!
