Hey guys,
Would like some imput on what to look for in buying a RO/DI unit. It looks like there are all kinds of choices. I see that there is a special with AquaFx right now for a 100 gpd unit (300 marked down to 135). However, it has a 2-micron carbon block. Is this still adaquate? I looked around and saw that there are some as small as .5 micron.
What type do you use and are you happy with it? If you were buying a new one which would you get?
I will be setting up a 120 gal tank in the near future and that is what this purchase will be for. To me, it seems like 100 gpd output is way higher than necessary.
Thanks for the advice.

Get an (airwaterice.com) typhon III. It's all inclusive. No extras to buy like a TDS meter and back flush. It's all there! And you can't beat the price. Also great customer service.

I also recommend the AWI Typhoon III. It's a great unit, AWI provides great customer service, and the unit comes with alot of goodies. Though it is pricier than the ---- models, I like the DI housing and it's deionization capability MUCH BETTER on the Typhoon than the ---- models. DI is important to me because my TDS at the tap is 800-1,000 and about 50-60 after pre-filters and RO. The DI brings it down to 0, but I have to change resin quite often and would have to change it weekly if I used one of the ---- models.

I just ordered the Typhoon III last week, after reading alot of the RO/DI threads from this forum. It seemed to be pretty popular and recommended alot and cheaper than most of the other units I was looking at.
