RO/DI questions

In shopping around for a RO/DI system I have noticed that they are really expensive. I had been look at a Kent 3stage 24GPD system or something comparable, until I found a Typhoon II Reefkeeper system, 5stage 100GPD it was about 25 bucks more, which works out to be cheaper by more than half for a comparable system.
Does anyone know if the Typhoon II is a good system? Is there such thing as a cheap RO/DI, by cheap I do not mean inexpensive, I mean will it work. Is there such thing as a bad RO/DI system? Does Kent or other 'brand name' RO/DI manufactures make better quality products?
Thanks in advance!

I got one of the ones off ---- from Air, Water, & Ice the unit works phenomonal and Walter really knows his stuff and provides unparallelled customer support. I had a problem with mine shortly after receiving it and called them, they helped me diagnose the problem and sent out replacement filters at no cost to resolve the issue.

Just hooked up my airwaterice compact reefkeeper and works like a charm, very easy to install (will attach pics soon) and great instructions.

I have one too! Great unit. Great customer service! Especially since i'm kind of a moron when it comes to plumbing. Mine has been working since monday. Ask for Walter over at Air, Water & Ice.
P.S. I'm in Wisconsin and my 100 gpd is probably only making around 5-10 gallons per day. I think because it's so cold here. I'll be calling walter again tomorrow.

Thats the one i have from www.airwaterice.com
it works great. just make sure that your water psi is at least 35-55 psi but not over 100psi and if your water is very cold the output will be less too but the goes for any rodi unit i had to tap in to my hot water pipe too to mix it with the cold in the winter here in kansas the water is very cold 49degs so in the winter i add hot water.i know other's say that there is gunk in hot water bul unless your hot water tank is very old i don't think it a problem you might have to change you pre filter more often but it's worth it your rodi wont make as much waste water if it's warm not over 80 deg

Im glad it helped. im looking for a small check valve that i can put in line on the 1/4" line so the hot water and cold don't feed back on each other. it's not a lot and it only does it when i use the sink by the hot water heater
