We set up this sytem to do water changes and make-up water easier. It has 3 seperate 15 gal containers. All of them have ball-valve drains at the bottom to tranfer water either out to a five gallon bucket or to another container. They also have overflows just in case we leave the RO/DI unit on. The overflows and the RO/DI waste are directed thru a pipe that goes thru the wall and into the bathtub.
The RO/DI water is produced directly into the top container. When that becomes full, we drain it into the middle container. From either of the top 2 containers, we can drain water into the bottom container where we make it saltwater. We use the middle container for make-up water. We put a T and 2 shutoff's in the show tank sump for water changes. We just turn the valves and it drains directly down into the downstairs laundry room pipe drain, then just fill the sump up again.

one question on the ro/di: do most of them come with a fitting that will screw onto a sink faucet or a water hose? I live in an apt and I really can't plumb it in.. I'm not looking for auto-topoff now.. I'll just hook it up at night and let it work until the morning, that should be enough topoff water.
thanks
