hey guys im thinkin of getting a Kentmarine deluxe 4-stage RO/DI HI S system for my reef tank (to help save on the costs of distilled top off water). The only price i have found for this system is $259.00. It seems reasonable but what do u guys think? Has anyone ever had/have this model or a Kentmarine RO/DI Unit? Otherwise what are some other recommendations? Thanks!

There are way better deals than that out there, but I guess I can't post any links here. Do a google search for RO/DI units and maybe you'll find some. My RO/DI unit was only like $150 and it's a good one.

I use the coralife pureflo II 50 gpd ro/di...$139 and the filter cartridegs are cheap and easy to find. a guy named big al sells them or google it.

really how much better? and would u just buy the canisters seperate and mount them together or something? Also i so far have found this HI S Deluxe version to be superior compared to other set ups. maybe its just me but i like them so far.

the hi s is very good but like I said you can get a much better unit for cheap by getting it piece by piece. here is a pic of my unit(hi s) and a pic after I added every thing else

I'm a noob so help me out here...I just bought the Coralife unit joncat mentioned. But I see the two extra canisters on yours so maybe you can explain what else you are filtering. Just curious about how I can get the most out of my system when I get it!

I like the Typhoon III Extreme for about the same price your looking at. It also comes with a hand held TDS meter, an inline dual TDS meter (water reading in, and water reading out), and an audible alarm when the TDS reaches a set amount indicating the cartridges need replacing.

all three units are good units and good enough to maintain a tank. mine is a little over kill it has a in line tds meter a 5 micron sed filter a 1 micron filter a 35 and a 75 tfc membrane a (recamended up grade) Matrix+c20-2 2.5 inch x 9.75 inch carbon filter. it is only capible of leaching phosphates into your water. and two di's in case I get lazy one will catch the other one
