Ro/di

Question for you chemists. I have ordered a RO/DI unit from my supplier(in the plumbing trade). A deioniser takes out both positive and negative charged ions (untra pure water)
I know a water softener works on removing cat-ions by exchanging. What are some an-ions that are left in teh water column?
Going with an RO/DI anyway just curious. Also any ideas on what type of float switches or level sensors to look at for auto top off system?
BTW my cost on filter system is 1/3 price listed all over the web so if ya have any plumber friends get em to look into your filters for ya if looking for new systems:)

You should get other opinions but I prefer the pressure sensitive valves. I don't like the idea of having an electrical switch controlling water flow.
The pressure sensitive switches can turn off the input water when a container is full or at a pre-determined level.
In my case, when my RO storage is full the input to my RO is shut off. My RO storage automatically siphons into my lime reactor when the water level in the sump drops.

Thanks Bang. I am sure someplace in my head I know what you are refering to but I guess we all use dif terms. Does your pressure sensitive switch have a brand?
The only that I know of would still be electrical. Trying to picture how a pressure sensitive switch works in (I assume) non pressure system. I was going to have a open storage tank.
Top for cover but not a tight top.
Also anyone else have some ideas or what they do or have tried?
