Tap water here is so bad i cant even do fresh water fish in it.
I want to get an RO unit for my tanks.
I am looking for info on:
1) Are there different qualities of filters?
(volume not neccesary just effectiveness)
2) is there a difference between ro for human consumption (like cullgen) and tank ro units?
Thank you for any help you can give?

I have the Kent HI-S RODI Maxima 35 GOD and it produces very clean water. I think that the RO for Human Consumption do not remove phosphates and silacates.

If you are going to buy one buy a RO/DI the extra de-ionization cart is well worth it and won't cost much more..It takes out about99.9% of impurities without the DI about 93%..The DI water thought can't be used for drinking as that it has a bad taste..I have the Kent RO/DI 24gpd and it works great. You can buy a connector for drinking water that bypasses the DI unit. Also a flush kit will extend the life of the membrane filter. You can get the whole unit for under 200bucks..Well worth it
