RO unit owners.

Just wondering how often everyone changes the filters in their RO units. I just replaced my membrane after 1 year, I was told it should last 2 years but I had some problems with the unit and I think the membrane was ruined. The DI I change when the color changes and the carbon and sediment I change every 5mo. Also do any of you use a TDS meter and do you recommend one?

You should change the carbon and sediment filter roughly every 6 months or if you taste anything different. They are reletively cheap so it wouldn't hurt to change them frequently. The membrane should last a couple years (~3 for me).
