I just recently bought and hooked up a coralife pure flo II ro unit and it seems like it produces more waste water than pure water. it seems to be almost a 2 to 1 ratio as well. Is this normal? dependent on the quality of water Im feeding it? I know the water in the area is supposedly high in iron which is the reason i purchased the unit. Can anyone help me out?

Yes, it's normal. Mine produces at a ratio of about 4:1, so you're actually quite lucky. What is your tds?

The first batch is generally recommended to be dumped...like the first few gallons anyway. This is so that the filter can be cleared of debris I believe.
