Can anyone recommend an ECONOMICAL RO unit?? Becuz I am guessing it is a neccesity?? I can't say I really budgeted for this in the design of my 90 g.....does it make a difference if i am not having a reef setup?? I currentl;y have had my 30g running for 5 months without an RO unit without any probs....what do you think???

i contribute my ro/di unit to helping reduce nitrates in my tank. they sell them on this site but are never in stock it seems. i got mine elsewhere, using the buy it now feature, and i have no complaints. 75gpd ro/di unit.

Check out www.airwaterice.com. A lot of people at SWF seems to use them . I just bought mine and them have pretty good deals. Most of all so many people said they used them and were happy. Fish are able to stand poorer water but if you want to ever go reef then I think you should. Your water can't get much better then what you start with. Maybe do some test on your tap water before you do anything to it and see what levels your at.

I bought my RO unit from the above mentioned site. They are GREAT to deal with. Tap water can contain copper(bad for inverts) and phosphates(helps algae grow) and other pollutants that are bad.
