Hey all
I've been searching the posts about RO Units
I cant decide whether or not to get one now or later. I'm still in the process of "researching" everything, but should be getting my tank fairly soon.
Can anyone recommend one? I dont want one that costs an arm and a leg right now, but I want one that will do the job. Also my tank size will be 29-55gal (STILL havent decided)...
how many gallons per day should i get
any help would be appreciated

brit, I just bought a Kent 24 GPD RO unit this weekend for my 46 gal Bow front it seems to do a good enough job. It only produces 1 gallon an hour so it takes a while. I like you didn't want to spend a lot and I picked this one up for $100.00. I do a 10% water change every two weeks so it takes me 5 hours to get enough water.

tanks for the info
i was just looking at those units
do you happen to have a pic of your bow front? the 46 bow is at the top of my list on tanks right now
do you like it a lot and think its worth the extra $$ or should i just get a regular tank?

Awwwww:nope: are you getting ignored?
24gpd is fine, it certainly will take some patience to full up your 46 gallon or whatever you get, but that's ok. Any good deals you can find on a name brand peice of equipment are well worth it provided they operate properly.

I go to the grocery store and pay 25 cents per gallon. Look for a standalone pure water unit. The one I use is called Glacier at Publix supermarkets.
Cheap enough for me :)

Sorry i didnt get back to you so soon. I have been out all day! If you are buying one from ----, make sure that the condition of the membrane is in excellent condition. That is the most expensive cost for the RO unit, the replacement for mine is $80.00! The membrane must always be wet and if it gets dried out it will destroy it!! Good luck on your purchase.
I dont have a very good digital camera but I love my BF tank! It is a Oceanic with stand.

Another vote for airwaterice. I love my unit I got from them. Great prices. They also have excellent customer service.
Kip-- Do you order your DI cartridges from them? I'm in need of a new DI cartridge and I'm trying to get the most economical deal.

I have heard the same thing also and although I can't prove it I have used both and the color changing appeared to get exhausted quicker. Have your ordered the refillable DI cartridges? It seems like a good deal but I am unsure of what is involved when filling the canister myself.

I just ordered my typhone II this morning and they threw the TDS meter and faucet adaptor in for free. The only advantage the III model has over II, according to walter, is the pressure gage and TDS meter. Which is a xmas throw in! All delivered with float switch for $200. Can't beat that.
