It all depends on a few things.
How bad is your tap water source.
How pure do you want your treated water to be.
How much water do you want to produce in a day.
How full is your wallet.
I'd suggest doing a search for Reverse Osmosis water filters on the net. Tons of good info at your figertips.

Also has a pretty good section detailing their water filtrations systems, and many hobbyists have reported good luck using them.
