I bought and installed a 5 stage RO unit yesterday. Came with a 3gl tank and takes 6-10 hours to fill the tank. I can get about 6 gl a day by taking in the AM and PM. Bought the unit from Lowes for $197.00. Good deal here or did I get riped?

Hey, you know, I called a couple of places like that. You don't have to wait until the auction is over, just call them direct, tell them you saw it on ---- and they'll give you that price. I am going to be buying mine from the LFS, the water that is, DI water for $0.35 a gallon. I don't think my 25 gal tank will use enough to justify buying one. Did you know that most of the R/O units waste 3 to 4 gallons of water to make 1 clean gallon???? Crazy. <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

maui the difference in RO and RO/DI water is The RO will measure 15-25 PPM as far as silicates phosphates in the water, RO/DI is labratory grade water and will test 0 PPM and is the best water quality you can get at home!
