I've been to Wal-Mart and can not find any RO water, only distilled. Does Wal-mart call the RO water something different ?

I would test that water with a TDS meter if it were me, RO water is only as good as the filters.
I don't use any water in my tanks with a TDS above 5.

i used to go to my local walmart for water, they used a local water place for there water so i knew it was good... but yes the .33 per gallon is a Great price... but i got sick and tired of driving there...waiting in line...and paying around $1 per day for water ... so i bought an ro unit.... i save around $34 a month ...just in water ....
do yourself a favor ...save up for an ro unit... you'll be alot happier
i actully got a RO/DI unit...and whoaaaaaa my tank went nuts!...Everything is HUUUUUGE

I also am using the RO water from Wal-Mart and it turned my tank around. I had been using tap water and it was horrible (algae). You can use a TDS test but there is a card on the RO machine that has the latest testing dates and the results. I plan on buying a RO/DI unit at tax time but in the mean time Wal-Mart works for me!

Strange my wal mart has RO for .25 cents per gallon, Miejer is .29 cents per gallon. Both are refill cost.
Gallon not galloon

I was using Wal marts great value distilled water for top off and water changes. However, I started having massive green hair algae problems. My tank started having low hits for phosphates with the massive growth and I couldnt figure out where it was coming from. I droped to feeding my fish to once every 2 to 3 days to no avail. I finally had the distilled water tested and bingo. Thats where it was coming from. It wasnt much, but continually adding it to the tank caused the phosphate to become a huge problem. I just bought a RO/DI unit and have already seen a huge diffrence. I vacume up the algae out of the sand and it hasnt grown back. Now I just need to get a better cleanup crew to finish off the algae on the rocks. So beware. I dont know if they get thier DS water from diffrent places but here in South Alabama there are phosphates in it.
