Road Rage + Knife + Me

Yikes. Last night my wife brought my daughter to the grocery store on her bike. As they were coming back my wife heard some car horns blasting and pulled over to the side of the road. One car passed her going very fast as two other cars were honking their horns. She made it home and opend the door yelling at me to call 911. I went outside and two guys were pounding on each other. I ran over to try to break it up as I was on the phone with 911 and one guy ran into a condo and came back with a knife and began chasing the other guy like Jason in Friday 13th movies, knife at his side walking slow and shouting obsenities. I kept my distance and kept repeating to the guy "make good decisions." He followed the other guy down the street and out of sight. The guy was determined. I never saw them again but heard the police show up and guns drawn and ordering at least one guy to get on the ground. That's it. Nothing in the paper or on the news about it so I have no idea of the results. I'd really like to know names and outcomes of the police report. Well, that's my exciting night.

I live in S Ft. Myers, Island Park area. They did not take a witness statement from me but I was very detailed with the 911 operator and there were others that were closer. When the police arrived I went inside and never went back out. I figured they'd call me if they need anything else.

Thats crazy. About three months ago a guy was running from the police in a stolen car and slammed into my car running me off the road. That was about a trip. All I was trying to do was get to publix to buy some steak.
Still went and got the steak after words though....

Glad you are ok. I've seen a few road rage incidents in my day but they were not near as frequent or violent back in my Law enforcement days. People are just crazy these days and have no respect for anyone.
I've been in Miami on several occassions and that is a dangerous place to drive. I know my buddy that lived down always warned me to never slow down and hold up traffic when driving by the airport to watch planes take off or land. He said you stood a good chance of getting shot at.

If you get your local paper, there should be a police log. They usually report stuff like that there. If they aren't minors, they will list their names and ages, etc.

I checked and it wasn't in there.

I got heated once, entering the UCF parking garage, all the other ways of travel have a stop but going in is clear (so it doesn't back up into the road). Well, some moron in a Ranger decided to try and slowly creep in behind the car in front of me as I entered the garage. Well we some of 'bounce braked' each other for a moment but he was ahead of me. Well I creeped right up on him, but I forgot that the back of the truck would swing out a bit (he was perpendicular to me and turning right so that he was headed the same direction), and as he swung right, the back of his bumper hit my front bumper. No damage to either, but he got out and started yelling, so did I. The 'conversation' ended with me saying that he had the stop sign and maybe something about me pounding a face in or something like that

I used to be very confrontational but the birth of my daughter changed my perspective on life. Still nothing in the news. I'm dying for some info.

Yeah I used to hand out "you're number 1" signs like I was in a contest. I calmed way down when I had kids. Too many nut jobs out there that don't care. I just smile now and say "F&% you very much!" It makes me feel just as good even though they can't hear me. Of course now that I have a parrot in the back seat, that option is gone also.
