Roadside memorials creep me out.

we've all seen them.
flowers around a telephone poll, or the jesus candles, or some cross or something stuck into the ground.
roadside graves really creep me out. i think they are uneccessary, as well.
there are ones around my area that have going on for years. it seems like every 2 or 3 days, somebody replaces and relights the candles that are there.
why wouldnt you just place them at the cemetary like everybody else. obviously the person is not buried in the concrete of the overpass.
it literally boils my skin when i see them.

Many many of them down here in SOFL.. People have different ways of paying respect and memorials. Try to ignore them. Its not like they are putting a memorial on your dash board.

I think its disrespectful to put them up on the side of the road .
It's tacky to memorialize a death like it was a new store opening in the mall .

They don't really bother me except for the fact that they can cause another accident when some idiot slows down to try and look at them.

im stuck on that one cause i do think it clutters up the side of the road if someone doesnt maintain it but i think it also serves as a reminder to slow down or pay attention

hhhm.... i never really thought about it.... they are just such a fact of life, really. can't go anywhere without seeing one; they've become a natural part of the scenery to me.
....which is kinda sad, now that I think about it. b/c Jenny is right, they ARE supposed to make you think about what happened there, and jar you into paying more attention to your driving.
