rock angel

i was at my lical aquarium services store ( canadian equivalent to LFS but better in my opinion.) and i saw a sign on a tank that said rock angel but there were no fish in the tank. everyone was busy so i didnt bother asking. has anyone heard anything about this fish?? i think its a pigmy. any info would be great. ps- what does lfs stand for.

When they said Rock Angel they probably meant Rock Beauty. If so I would not buy it just because I think it is one of those fish better left in the ocean. Anyways here is some info on the Rock Beauty angelfish:
1st off it gets @12in (32cm) in a tank. They are hard to feed cause they are very picky eaters. You can only keep 1 per tank as with most angels. Sometimes they can be very territorial and aggressive and they also need great water condictions, but if you take care of your tank that part would be know problem. As for their color they look awesome the juvs are yellow with a black spot on them and the adults have a yellow head, belly and caudal fin and the rest is black....
As for lfs it stands for local fish store.

Pretty much covered above for you. I happen to be one of the lucky ones I bought a Rock Beauty last October and it has done swimmingly (I love using that analogy). Mine eats about anything I give it but I make sure every other day it gets some Angel Formula frozen cubes that contains sponge material (which the rock must have to stay alive longer then a couple months). Mine is about 5 or 6 inches and lives in my 120 with my 2 BIG PORKS and a Dianas Hogfish. They are not very expensive as most stores get them fairly cheap from the wholesalers as they are known as hard keeping fish (therefore who will pay a ton for it- no one I hope). I paid mid 30 dollar range for mine.

is there a specialty fish only store in the us??? in canad its aquarium services. they deal only in tropical and marine fish. they are the BEST EXPERTS and i rely on them all the time. im sure u guys would love to have them in the us! amazing store and since its a chane they buy fish from the same delaer so they get saltys and freshys for a good price.

I dont know of 1 here that is a chain store that is as good as what you say yours is. I have some great lfs though cause the ppl know what they are talking about and I always get a second opion usually on this bb.

I have a Rock Beauty Angel that is about 5",I've had her for about 5 months.All I can say is that its been a great fish,eats like a pig and gets along with other tank mates.
