rock question

i have a mix of live rock,and the expensive fake rock they sell,will the fake rock become a bio filter like live rock once its loaded with bacteria?im guessing yes,i also have a wet dry with bio balls,could i get rid of them now?been up 6 months,also could that be why im not producing alot of skim with my skimmer?thanx

once bacteria grows on your fake, it wont act as strong as real LR for bio filtration but will still a little.

When you say fake rocks do you mean actual fake plastic rocks or stuff that isn't from the ocean but is still real rock?
And yes, you should get rid of the bio-balls.

they sell fake rock,looks exactly like live rock,i believe its made of glass foam,ive seen them in alot of lfs tanks
