rock work

i have a 24gal biocube and a butt load of coral coming in next week and i need rock work...
can i use some rock that i have in my fresh water tank. its like lava rock or something, can i bleach it or something and put it into my saltwatertank?
and the freshwater tank is now empty, can i use it for saltwater now?

You can't use lava (or many other FW safe rocks) in a salt tank. They have metals in them that will leach into the water and kill your corals.
The freshwater tank can be used for salt provided it's never been treated w/ copper for the same reasons as above. Clean it thoroughly w/ bleach water and rinse to get all the bleach out.

well im not sure if it is lava rock,,, it is black tho lol.

Be very aware that if you put live rock in your tank that you could have die off resulting in the death of all of your corals. The best option for you to do would be to find someone tearing down their tank on craigs list or somewhere like that and put that directly in your tank. But make sure to transport the rock in water to minimize anything dying.
Why did you buy corals prior to getting live rock???? That doesn't make any sense. How mature is the tank you are putting the corals in? Has it at least gone through it's cycle?

I would not recomend using Lava rock and to be honest it sounds like your going to set up a salt water tank and immediately put corals into it, that is not a good idea as your tank needs to cycle and stabalise over a period of time prior to adding corals. You might get lucky and some will survive if they are hardy varieties.
BTW is it a standard biocube with PC lighting? did you match the corals to the lighting your system has? You might want to think about contacting the place you purchased the coral from and seeing if they can hold it for you for at least a couple weeks so you can buy some live rock and get your saltwater tank to cycle.

lol calm down. the tank has been up for 2 years now, i just didnt want to go out and buy more rock when i allready had/. i am going tomorow to buy some more LR. i was just wondering what i could use.
anyways i have 2 toadstools coming in and a red shroom, ima go buy some zoos tomorow and xina along with the LR.
i need more lr cuze i need the surface to put the coral on thats why.
