Would a bi-color and a lawnmower get along in an 85 gal? I love my lawn mower, i would like to get a bi-color also. everything just says you can't put them togeather in a small tank. How small is that?
In the wild blennies mark out a territory in about a 3' radii of thier "perch". The smaller the blenny the smaller thier territory. They are ususally fierce defenders of thier territory especially when an invader of the same --- enters thier space, regardless of blenny species.
Now with that said... I've kept blennies since I was little (and that was along time ago). I've caught them in the wild, did my Masters thesis on them and generally have been amazed by thier inginuity (and thier weird behavior) over the past 30 years. The highest # I have ever kept in the same tank was 4 in a 20gl long tank. For the most part they got along but they were all introduced at the same time and none of them had an established territory when they were added.
In an 85 I would think you would be safe but it depends on how far your lawnmower has established his boundaries (and how big he is). If it were me I would watch him for 2 days and keep a mental note of where he hangs out the most... when you introduce the new fella,,, make sure it's as far from the lawnmowers perch as possible...
