has anyone tried to recycle their rodi waste water and have the filter run throught it again? i always feel like it is such as waste every time i make water. i thought maybe if you could put in a large trash can and run a pump back to you input that might work. any ideas?

It would work to some extent. The thing to consider though is the cost of the pump as a simple powerhead woudn't do it, you'd need a pump that can generate upwards of 50-60 PSI of pressure, and the wear on your membrane. The waste water contains everything the membrane removed from the product water, so putting it through again would be harder on your membrane.
What I did is run the hose outside of the house and I fill a large barrel with it and use the water to wash cars, water flowers, etc. To me that seemed the cheapest way to use that water for something useful.

I plumbed the waist line from my 75gpd tfc membrane to a 35gpd tfc membrane so i only waist 1 gallon to every 2 I make. then I store the waist water from the 35 tfs and use it for drinking water. its already been ran through the sediment and carbon filter so it much cleaner than tap

That's what I plan to do too; I still haven't hooked up my RO system. I know this is a hot topic right now; but I don't think water is ever really wasted, it always finds its way back into the water cycle somewhere. Paying for water going down the drain is a different matter.

So do I. I just didn't want all the extra load on my septic tank.

i agree but i feel like the water is being drawn from deep aquaphors (in some areas) and is not being replaced when retreated. dunno just a thought.
