As most of you know, im the biggest n00b out there and got into this hobby recently, if you havent noticed from my 12gal thread. I found a great offer for a 24gal so i am on the way to go in just a few minutes to pick it up.
I was to excited about it and made my thread a bit early for a head start! HAHA..
Any1 have any starter tips for my new tank. I plan on upgrading the pump in the back for better flow, any recommendations?

edit:
stupid picture of the tank....

first question.. i just added my salt water to my tank.. nothing is in there besides 2 small rocks from my 12gal .. brand new water. anyhow.. i put this all in 2night.. tomorrow is water change time for my nano 12.. can i swap water since my tank is full (i had to fill it up so that i can turn the pump on etc and clear out the nasty cloudy water).. i can take out 3gallons of 1 day old in my tank water, and swap it back into my nano, and put my "dirty" nano water into my new tank to help the cycle?..

right on man you are on your way (again!).
Hopefully someone can answer your water swapping question. Maybe like Nano-Newb since he just recently got his 2nd tank up and running quickly. I have heard of "seeding" new saltwater with a cup of old tank water, but I read this is done when mixing saltwater in 5 gallon buckets. Maybe there is something similar for new tanks?
If it were me, i would do your normal water change for your 12 as if you never had a 24. Keep the water you have now in your 24. You can add rock and sand from your 24 to your 12. I dont think the sand would do much though since you havent had your 12 for that long.

Hoepfully someone with more experience will give you a better answer. Good luck dude.

got in this morning, and the tank is still a bit cloudy. Yesterday when i put my fresh water in to test the seal and emptied it out.. dried it.. it left all these water marks in on the inside of the glass cuz the warter down here is so hard. Left like white water spots.. i figured when i pour my water in the tank it will clear out. Boy was i wrong.. i had to scrub it off today.. still a lot more i have to cleanbut i have work to do.
i also have veryy small tiny alage dots on the glass.. i tried scruubbing with finger nail and no go. How do tou guys recommend me geting at it.
also having a tough damn time keeping my surface skimmer on my filter.. its not keeping the suction good... I might have wayyy to much sponge in there?.. no idea.. any suggestions? Keeps falling off.

Try using a credit card on the algae. If not go to a razor blade, just be careful.
What pump is in the tank? Not sure what you mean by wayyy too much sponge but if you are asking the question that way then yes possibly. Something is restrictin your flow, there should be enough suction to keep the skimmer in place. Especially if you upgraded the return pump to the maxi.

yeah.. do you recommend me taking 1 of the sponges out?.. there are 2 sponges.. 1 of them is so fat that its squeezed against the walls... I used 2 of those)
i also have 1 sponge that doesnt quote huge the the walls from side to side but from front to back its tight in there so it doesnt move.. (the sides have empty dead space).. should i use that one?.. or should ij ust get rid of 1 of sponges and leave a fat empty space in the middle of chamber 1.. ill draw a picture for reference.
edit: PIC

top is showing how the entire chamber is covered. Bottom is showing the sides have a gap.

^^^... if anyone can answer that it would be greatly appreciated.
also for my sunpod. I found one for 220 + 29 $ shipping.. 250$ brand new .. sounds like a good deal to me no?.. everything on the bay seems to be going for about the same price as well?..
unless anyone has a suggestionfor a better place to pick it up.

i would take at least one of the sponges out and it doesnt matter which one you use. If these things are trapping detrius, use the one that fits best so no detrius gets away. The sponges will house bacteria and nitrates, but since you have LR, you wont need both. I remember our conversation awhile ago about whether or not you should use the sponges at all. You werent keen on using floss, so right now your sponge will take its place. Just make sure you rinse it weekly, if not more. Copy your setup from your other tank, you should be good to go.
