Rose Anemone Question

I have a 90 gallon reef with 100lbs live rock and 10 small fish and a couple corals (hairy mushrooms, xenia, zoos, yellow polp., button polp., candy cane, etc. A while back my blue hippo some how got ich; Im not sure where it came from because i did not add any new fish and i had my hippo for over 5 months; anyway, long story short I used KickIch to treat because i was having a hard time catching my hippo to place in my hospital tank. Anyways ever since I added KickIch into my system my tank went to crap; corals suffered Rose Anemone shrivled up and has very tiny arms. Before this my anemone was fine, it was taking food every couple days, nice coloration, and found a spot that it like from the moment that I place it in the tank. Now my anemonelooks like crap, it still stays open and mouth is not gaping but the arms are very small and will not except food anymore. My lighting situation is not the best but was fine before. Currently have - 390 watts PC and have metal halides and vhos on the way - hopefully this will help the situation. Any ideas or thoughts would help! By the way i do skim my tank and have a 20g. sump. and water flow is 1400g/h kinda low but am ordering another sao or placing my closed loop back on.

I do regular water changes 10% per week and always test my water Nitrites, Nitrates, Ph, salinity, and ammonia right before water changes. I did in the past run GAC but more recently (about two months ago) stopped because i did not think it was necessary. Should I begin to run it agian? I just checked my anemone and he still is not looking to good. Bang Guy have you ever heard of KickIch causing any problems?

Only when it's added to the tank water.

Well I'm sorry I laughed but I have to agree, many folks think kick ick is the greatest thing since coralline algae, its not. Many of those poeple who swear by it don't know that the fish itself fought off the infection/parisite.
This is from a knowlegable poster regarding if kick ick is safe for a reef tank.
"It is so safe that it will kick nothing... don't waste your money on this product and start preparing to get those fish into a proper quarantine for treatment. There is no corner cutting in this endeavor and Kick-Ich will only succeed at separating you from your money and leaving you with fish that are still sick"
It may irritate the ick enough to kock it off your fish, but your still left with ick in the tank.
THIS IS MY OPINION, everyone else is welcome to their own. If you want to kill ick then you need a hospital tank and hypo salinity.

Oh and BTW yes I've heard of anemones getting sick of the supposed cure of kick ick.

Bang Guy, by the way, do think I should or shouldnt run GAC in my system? Also, have you ever used ESV B-Ionic Two part calcium and akalinaty buffer? I just started using this and it seems have good reviews.

I love B-Ionic!
If it didn't take a gallon a week for a 1000 gallon system then that's what I'd be doing. I can only afford hydrated lime
IMO running GAC would have quickly removed whatever chemical is in Kick-Ick and would have helped your Anemone.
GAC is good for chemical contamination and for removing the yellow from the water for water clarity.
Run 24 hours as needed by forcing water through it and then discard.

wow...thats the first time I looked at the tank sizes you own, BangGuy.....any pictures you have already posted of those? Would love to see it.....
I keep dreaming of this super large tank which I know I might never even get...but its always a treat to see someone elses...especially an enclosure of that size.....
am going to do a quick search against your name and see if you already have something posted...
Ciao!!
