Royal Gramma agressive?

I have read that Royal Gramma fish are territorial, but generally non-agressive fish. I recently added one to my DT after a stint in the QT.
Well for the past couple of days, my Firefish has hidden out in his cave. I can see him and he comes out to eat, but he does not swim in the flow like he used to. My 8 year old said he saw the Gramma go after the firefish.

Any ideas?

My RG is not agressive, but he is the only one that stands up to my Clarkii. he does not instigate with my madrine, firefish or maroons.
When ever a fish starts to chase mine he will turn around and open his mouth, I am very interested to see other posts on this.

mine used to be a pain in the ass, he wouldnt let anyone get close to him he would attack mouth wide open, but now he gets along with everyone

There are two species that look very similar. The caribbean version and the brazillian one. Both can be aggressive to other tank mates as it fights for places to make home. Most of the time the caribbean is easy to get along with others but sometimes you will get one that simply wants to bully everyone. The caribbean is less aggressive than the brazillian.

Any idea how to tell them apart?
It appears that my Royal Gramma has staked out the right side top of the tank. It happens to be the same place that the Firefish used to swim.
I am not sure what to do. Hopefully he will come back out and find a place where he can swim freely.

There are yellow streaks in the head of the caribbean and not in the brazillian. Also, the brazillian has a larger mouth. Unfortunately, unless you have both in front of you, its hard to tell mouth size.
