Royal Gramma SchoolingExperiment

Lately, there has been alot of controversy on whether royal grammas would, or would not school together. Well, I decided to give it a shot. I have a 125g reef. I added 6 Royal grammas simultaneously, 2 larger, and 4 smaller. I have had them in there for a week and thus far I have noticed that 2 of the smaller grammas will float together in a live rock archway. One of the grammas is staying by itself in a hole, coming out to feed only and dashing back in after. The largest gramma is getting a bit aggressive. I have seen him and the other larger one get into little scrapes, nothing serious though. The largest one seems to be on a search and destroy mission, he is going around all the caves and archways seemingly looking for other grammas to show his dominance, which I don't necessarily think is a bad thing, hoping that he will emerge as the male and cause the others to turn female. Thus far he has only encountered the other large one. I will post on this periodically with new events, with the end result hopefully being a school of 6, or two schools of 3. Has anyone else ever tried this? If so, please give your input. Thanks

I disagree. I have a customer with a 120g reef that has a school of 7 Royal Grammas.
I have also heard of many others trying this with success.
I will try to get a pic for you next time I am at my client's house. It's beautiful.

I think it will work too. Those arent big fish and thats a big tank. I wasnt aware they could change --- however. Has anyone had luck breeding them either commercial or home?
