Royal Gramma

The new royal gramma I got last week has been doing some strange things. He is out in the open swimming fine(doesn't look listless and no heavy breathing), but he is swimming sideways. He straightens up every now and then but goes right back to swimming sideways. He isn't really going anywhere he's just hovering in a small area. He's eating and when he does swim somewhere he swims normal(upright). Is this common in gramma's? Could this be a problem with his swim bladder?

Thanks for the replies. I feel a lot better knowing someone else has seen this before. Anyone else ever see this behavior???

I also have seen gammas do this at lfs. They are usually high in the tank in the current of a ph when they lie sideways like they do??? Strange stuff, amybe disease board would have info, or a search?!!

My Gramma will plaster himself along side a crevis in a rock in my tank when he gets spooked. Dont worry about yer little side ways swim I'm sure there is nothing wrong.

Saw one at the LFS about 2 weeks ago who did the exact same thing... then i took notice of the other ones... they didn't show this behavior...went back a week later and it was still alive... i figure it to be normal behavior... no one has bought him though because of the way he swim, i guess
