rubber feet v. mounting bracket on satellite lights

Hi - I just bought a Satellite 24-hour ligthing system for my 29g. It comes with 4 rubber feet or 4 mounting brackets. Which is better to use? I have a glass canopy. Thanks!

In the summer I take off my canopy and use the mounting brackets, but in the winter I put my canopy back on and use the rubber feet. I change this up because my tank temps are higher in the summer. Keep your glass canopy on if you have jumers in your tank. I do not have any jumpers in my tank.

thanks - so the brackets are only for when the canopy is NOT in place?

That's just the way I do it. I like my lighting unit to be protected from splash when it is so close to the tank. A lot of people on these boards prefer not to use their glass canopys. I am liking my tank more and more without the canopy. In fact, it is still off since summer and my lighting unit is still on it's brackets.
