Any pump will work to feed the refugium. I use one of three return lines from the MagDrive 1200 in my sump. I have a valve to keep the folw rate around 150 GPH thru my approximately 30 gal refugium. Then I have 3 2" drains siliconed into the refugium that allows water to gravity return from the refugium to the display.Real easy if you have to room.

i have a powerhead that feeds the fuge-(clear line) and the bulk head is for the drain (gravity) back to the tank- the T shape is to allow air into the drain so that it dosent suck it throught the bulkhead and make a slurping noise

,
My system is 2 Rubbermaid type containers hooked together by PVC. I cut a hole in each Rubbermaid Container. Then I took a 2" PVC connecter (one piece is a male end which is threaded on the outside, the other end is a collar that is threaded on the inside (the 2 pieces screw together) and I created a bulkhead. I used some sheets of gasket and cut them to fit around the bulkhead and then I silconed all the connectors and tightened every thing down. After it dried I added a small piece of PVC between the 2 containers.
Here is a thread that I posted a while back that will help give you an idea of what I am talking about. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/91964/new-sump-setup

I got the sheets of gasket out of the plumbing section at Home Depot. I wanted unrestricted water flow so I wanted a larger opening. I could only finrd 1" standard Bulkheads locally but they would definitely work.

They weren't too bad. I used a marker to circle the pvc connectors then cut the gaskets out with really sharp scissors. I just cut an inch beyond my outline that I traced.
